Join us for our Tortilla, Sope & Gordita Making Class and a tour of our production kitchen. Make your own delicious corn tortillas, sopes and gorditas using our fresh masa in this hands-on workshop and learn about nixtamalization, local Mexican cheeses and some easy recipes to make at home.  This class is vegetarian with vegan options. Bring an appetite!

Class includes masa and recipes to take with you.

How: Class size is limited. Tickets must be purchased in advance.  Cancellation with $40- refund offered up to one week ahead. This is a hands-on workshop. Please wear comfortable shoes.

• Tamale Making Basics $65- •

Saturday April 11th from 10AM to 1PM

Tamale Making Basics!   Make your own delicious tamales with a simple classic ‘verde’ tomatillo sauce and a red chile sauce.  All in corn husks using our organic fresh yellow, white and blue corn masa and butter.   An all vegetarian option is available. 

Class includes mixing the masa as well as filling and folding your tamales, a demonstration on how to make the sauces, a kitchen tour and your own hand-crafted delicious tamales to take with you.

By popular demand Vegan Tamale Making Basics is back with Adriana and guest co-instructor Vegan chef Vanessa Arochi of ChilangoPDX! 

Make your own delicious tamales with oat butter and vegetable stock, a simple classic ‘verde’ tomatillo sauce and a red chile sauce. All in corn husks using our organic fresh yellow, white and blue corn masa.

Farmers Markets

We are on Winter Break from the Saturday Portland Farmers Market at PSU and will be back on April 4th. You can pick up tortillas and masa directly from our Kitchen Storefront, Monday through Friday 8AM until 12:30PM

Wednesday People's Co-op Farmers Market 2pm -7PM

This year-round farmers market is located in central Southeast Portland at the People’s Co-op.  Tortillas and  masa are made fresh in the morning.

Having a taco party? Making tamales? You can order in bulk by Monday and pick it up from us at the Market on Wednesday afternoon.https://www.peoples.coop

We also grind a coarser drier masa used for tamales. We typically grind this once a week so please give us plenty of lead time on your order. It is not “prepared” for tamale making so you will need to add the other ingredients. See our tamale page for more information.

By 5PM Monday for Wednesday 2PM to 6PM Pick-up at People’s Co-op Farmers Market

By 5PM Wednesday for Saturday 9 to 2 Pick-up at PSU Saturday Portland Farmers Market. April through November only.
